The house is a fine example of the transition period between the Greek Revival and Victorian styles of architecture. The most unique features of the house are the cupola and the murals. In the cupola, under the picture, each wall contains a different colored stained glass that creates the illusion of the seasons of the year.
There is no better place to experience living history, we promise to entertain you.

The graceful Greek revival structure embodies the building style that distinguished so many Louisiana plantation homes. Giant magnolias and period furnishings complement the house, which has been cited by the Historic American Buildings Committee of the Department of the Interior.

This Stately Southern Colonial Greek Revival home with details reminiscent of the Parthenon is located on a historic 1813 Spanish land grant located between the Big Cypress and the Little Cypress rivers next to one of the early roads to Jefferson.  The six-acre grounds were originally a part of a cotton plantation and later became a pecan plantation.
