Built-in 1907. The Jefferson Carnegie Library serves the residents of Marion County with NY Times best-selling books, audiobooks, DVDs, and a children’s section. It also provides faxing and copying services and free wired and wireless Internet access. Available for weddings.

The exhibits of the museum are representative of the period 1700-1900. These items began as the personal collection of Johnny & Edith Ingram. The Ingram’s are True Texans, raised in west Texas they have lived in Jefferson since the early 1980's. When the decision was made to share their collections with the public; the tourist destination of Jefferson was the ideal venue for them to repay their “adopted hometown.” Tours and School Groups welcome.

R. D. Moses private collection of Texas and Pacific train display. The late R.D. Moses and his friend Jack Luck spent over 30 years creating and building a HO gauge model railroad layout that depicted the Texas & Pacific Railway in West Texas in the 1950s.  It is known as one of the best in the hobby. Tours and School Groups welcome.

Fri & Sat: 9:30 am to 4:30 pm

Scarlett O’Hardy’s "Gone with the Wind" Museum

This 1,700-square-foot museum features one of the world’s largest private collections of memorabilia relating to Margaret Mitchell’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and David O. Selznick’s Academy Award-winning motion picture.

The museum gift shop features Gone With the Wind-related items, both old and new. Group tours are welcome throughout the year.

The museum is housed in a 1890’s Federal building, once used as a Courthouse and Post Office, is filled with thousands of historical items.  Examples of items displayed include Victorian fashions, period furnishings, farm tools, gun collection and Caddo Indian artifacts. Also, an extensive archives collection is available for research. Group tours are welcome for a discounted admission charge.
