Built in 1907. The Jefferson Carnegie Library serves the residents of Marion County with NY Times best selling books,audio books, DVDs, and a children’s section. It also provides faxing and copying services and free wired and wireless Internet access. Available for weddings.

This 1,700-square-foot museum features one of the world’s largest private collections of memorabilia relating to Margaret Mitchell’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel and David O. Selznick’s Academy Award-winning motion picture.

The museum gift shop features Gone With the Wind-related items, both old and new.

The museum is housed in an 1890’s Federal building, once used as a Courthouse and Post Office, is filled with thousands of historical items.  Examples of items displayed include Victorian fashions, period furnishings, farm tools, gun collection and Caddo Indian artifacts. Also, an extensive archives collection is available for research. Group tours are welcome for a discounted admission charge.
